Frequently asked questions

At Anthem Classic, we take great pride in crafting high-quality, custom pieces that balance durability, functionality, and refined design. Because each item is made by hand, no two pieces are exactly alike. Please review the following Cosmetic Standards to ensure our materials and processes align with your expectations.

Surface Variations
Due to the nature of metal fabrication, subtle surface variations—such as weld marks, faint scratches, or slight textural inconsistencies—may be present. These are not defects, but rather hallmarks of authentic craftsmanship that highlight the handmade quality of each piece.

Patina & Finish
Our steel finishes are achieved through a specialized patina process, resulting in rich, organic tones that are unique to each item. For unfinished or raw steel pieces, like our Fire Pits, natural patina will continue to evolve over time with exposure to the elements, enhancing the character and depth of the material. To encourage a more even and natural patina over time, our team will initiate the rusting process during production so your Fire Pit will arrive with its signature warm, rust-toned finish.

Color Variation
Each piece of steel reacts differently during the patina and finishing process, producing natural variation in tone, depth, and texture. While we strive for consistency, no two finishes will be identical. Please note that digital renderings may not perfectly reflect final coloration due to differences in lighting and screen settings.

Material Character
Every Anthem Classic piece reflects the individuality inherent in handcrafted work. Variations in finish, tone, and texture are to be expected and celebrated as part of the design. Customers seeking perfectly uniform or mass-produced appearances may find these characteristics outside their preference.

Natural Oxidation (Rust)
Steel is a living material that may develop oxidation over time, especially in outdoor or high-moisture environments. This natural process contributes to the evolving aesthetic of the piece. Routine care and appropriate protective measures can help maintain your desired appearance.

Standard Parcel Deliveries:
Our team will send you an email once the order leaves our shop with tracking information. The tracking information will update with an expected delivery date. The delivery will NOT require a signature so please be sure to inspect and notify our team of any damages or concerns within 48 hours of your delivery. In the unlikely event that your order is damaged in transit by the carrier, Anthem will file a claim with the shipping company and work to either fix the problem or replace the item, depending on the nature and extent of the issue, but we can only do that if the damage is noted with us within 48 hours of delivery.

Freight Shipping:
Items are typically in transit for 5 to 15 business days before a delivery date is scheduled. Once the shipment arrives at the shipping terminal nearest to your home, you will be contacted by the freight company to schedule a delivery window. The delivery date and window can vary depending on individual shipping locations and freight company availability to your location. Please be prepared if the initial delivery date is declined or if you request a rescheduled date, the next available delivery date may be between 2-3 weeks from the original proposed delivery date.

The delivery company will give you a call at least a day in advance with your delivery date and window for when you can expect their team to arrive at your home. The third-party delivery team will also give you a call when they're about 30 mins out to let you know they're on their way. If you are not home at the time you scheduled for your delivery, additional delivery charges will apply for redelivery. Delivery time windows can span over several hours, so be prepared to accept your shipment at any point within the time window given. If you are not able to accept your shipment or schedule delivery within a reasonable amount of time (as defined by the freight company), the freight company may be required to charge storage fees.

Please be prepared to inspect and sign for your shipment upon delivery. The delivery slip is a legally binding document. It is your responsibility to inspect your order thoroughly and completely for any damage BEFORE signing for the package(s). In the very rare event that your order does arrive damaged, do not refuse delivery. Please note any damage on the delivery slip before signing for your shipment. In the unlikely event that your order is damaged in transit by the third-party, Carbon will file a claim with the shipping company and work to either fix the problem or replace the item, depending on the nature and extent of the issue, but we can only do that if the damage is noted on the delivery slip before signing for the shipment. Once you sign the delivery slip, Carbon can assume no responsibility for damage found after delivery, so fully inspecting your shipment upon delivery is imperative.

Please note: Items cannot be refused upon delivery if it does not fit through an entryway. It is your responsibility to ensure the item you order can fit in your home.

Traditional Wallpaper (Paste-to-Paper)

Installed using wallpaper paste applied directly to the wall. A classic, professional-grade option suited for long-term installations.

Not sure which to choose?

Peel-and-stick is great for easy DIY projects, while traditional wallpaper is best for permanent installations. For questions, contact us at hello@anthemclassic.com.

Our peel-and-stick wallpaper is designed for easy removal—simply peel it away from the wall with minimal residue or damage when applied to a properly prepared surface.

Traditional wallpaper is removed using standard wallpaper removal methods. The process may vary depending on the paste and installation, but our materials are designed to allow for straightforward removal when the time comes.

Keep Those Seams in Check

Few things take the wind out of your sails faster than stepping back to admire your new wallpaper and spotting visible seams. You picked the design, put in the work, and the last thing you want is lines breaking up the look. The good news? Seams don’t show up by accident—and with the right prep and technique, they’re easy to minimize!
Here’s how to keep your install clean, tight, and looking the way it should.

What Causes Visible Seams?
When seams show, it’s usually because something didn’t lock in the way it should. Most of the time, it comes down to one (or more) of the following:

Improper Wall Prep
If the wall isn’t properly prepped, the wallpaper won’t grab evenly. Dust, leftover paint residue, moisture, or uneven surfaces can all cause the paper to lift just enough for seams to show.
Incorrect Application
If strips aren’t lined up dead straight—or if they aren’t pressed firmly during install—you’ll end up with gaps. Wallpaper rewards patience and precision. Rush it, and it’ll show.
High-Contrast Designs
Dark patterns can make seams stand out more, especially against light-colored walls. Since wallpaper is printed on a white base, the edges can catch the eye if the contrast is strong.

How to Prevent Visible Seams
The fix starts before the first strip ever goes on the wall.

Prep the Wall the Right Way
This isn’t the place to cut corners. Clean the wall thoroughly and remove dust, grease, or old adhesive. Prime the surface to create a smooth, even base—this helps the wallpaper grip and stay put. A good primer goes a long way toward keeping seams tight.
Line It Up and Take Your Time
Start straight and stay straight. Align each strip carefully from the top down, smoothing as you go. Air bubbles and misalignment are early warning signs—deal with them right away before moving on.
Smooth and Press with Purpose
Once the strip is up, press it firmly into place using a smoothing tool. You’re not forcing it—you’re making sure every inch is making solid contact with the wall. A seam roller can be a real asset here, especially along the edges.
Extra Tricks That Make a Difference
Even if you do everything right, some wallpapers—especially dark ones—need a little extra know-how.
Working with Dark Wallpapers
Most wallpapers are printed on white backing, and with darker designs, those white edges can peek through at the seams. That’s not a failed install—it’s just contrast. A simple fix is to run a crayon that matches your wallpaper color along the edges of the roll before hanging. Black wallpaper? Black crayon. Dark green? Dark green crayon. It helps those edges disappear once the strips are up. Pair that with a seam roller and you’re in good shape.
Match the Wall to the Wallpaper
Putting dark wallpaper on a bright white wall makes seams stand out more than they need to. If possible, tint your primer closer to the wallpaper color. It doesn’t need to be exact—just close enough to reduce contrast. Dark wallpaper does best over a darker base; light wallpaper over a lighter one.
Use “Banding” for Backup
If you don’t want to paint the entire wall, banding is a solid option. Paint vertical stripes where the seams will land, matching the wallpaper color as closely as you can. When the paper goes up, those seams blend right in. It’s a smart move, especially for bold designs.
Already Hung the Wallpaper?
If the wallpaper’s already up and seams are showing, don’t panic—there are still ways to clean it up. A marker can be used carefully along the seams, then wiped immediately. The color sticks to the wall and backing, not the wallpaper face. Always test first in a hidden spot before committing.

Final Word
Wallpaper rewards good prep and steady hands. Take the time to do it right—clean walls, proper alignment, firm smoothing—and visible seams won’t stand a chance. And if you ever have questions along the way, our team is here to help.
